FOR THE WIFE
\nWHO SAYS IT’S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
\nBECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
\nAND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.<\/p>\n
FOR THE HUSBAND
\nWHO IS ON THE SOFA
\nBEING A COUCH POTATO,
\nBECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
\nAND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.<\/p>\n
FOR THE TEENAGER
\nWHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS HE IS AT HOME,
\nNOT ON THE STREETS.<\/p>\n
FOR THE TAXES I PAY
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS
\nI AM EMPLOYED.<\/p>\n
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
\nBEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.<\/p>\n
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.<\/p>\n
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS
\nI AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE<\/p>\n
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
\nWINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
\nAND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.<\/p>\n
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
\nI HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS
\nWE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH..<\/p>\n
FOR THE PARKING SPOT
\nI FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
\nAND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.<\/p>\n
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS
\nI AM WARM.<\/p>\n
FOR T HE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
\nWHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS
\nI CAN HEAR.<\/p>\n
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS
\nI HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.<\/p>\n
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
\nAT THE END OF THE DAY
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
\nCAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.<\/p>\n
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
\nIN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.<\/p>\n
AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
\nBECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
